Karwa Chauth
The saga of eternal love between husband and wife is celebrated on the day of Karwa Chauth in India and places with Indian origin people. Married women practice fast for their respective husbands on this day in return for their long and happy life. By the night, when the moon comes up in the sky they break their fast by feasting. The festival is devoted to Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva.

Women draped in vibrant traditional saris and jewelry sing songs and perform rituals. As a custom, it is necessary for the newlyweds to apply henna on their hands. Preparations for the festival start days before the festival. Women shop for new clothes, jewelry, and accessories. On the other hand, Husbands too gift them to show their love and affection. On the day of the festival, the feasts are prepared and enjoyed by the family and friends together. Usually, the delicacies are cooked at home but some sweets are bought from the market.

Ashwa Pujan, Udaipur
Here is an event that will take you to the historical times when the elegant rituals of ancient yagnas were carried out by royal families. The horse is the epicenter of this festival in Udaipur city. In earlier times horses were used in wars and thus they shared a special relationship with the warrior class Rajputs. Ashwa Pujan is worshiping horses so as to pay the regards for their services.
The festival is celebrated on the last day of the Navaratri fest. And Udaipur delicacies are the specialty of the event. Well decorated horses and traditionally dressed guards of the royal family of Udaipur attract tourists from all around the world.
